These are the top 20 ways you can spend Valentine’s when you’re single, and the BEST things singles can do on Valentine’s day.

Love can and should be celebrated every single day of the year. And every type of love should be celebrated – platonic and romantic love, as well as your own self-love, which is far too often overlooked and neglected.

If you’re asking yourself… “How do I get over being alone on Valentine’s day?” The answer is – just do something with yourself on this day that will help you appreciate your single status and enjoy it. Do something that celebrates it, your self-relationship and self-love.

HOW ABOUT YOU? Do you struggle with being alone on Valentine’s Day? what do you plan on doing?

Can you look in the mirror & instantly pin-point e Can you look in the mirror & instantly pin-point every tiny thing you don’t like, what you would change about yourself & appearance?

There’s likely not much one can say to tear me apart that I haven’t already told myself. No one can hurt & insult me better than I can myself

But no amount of wallowing, complaining, criticising or wishing, will change who I am & certain parts of me. Certainly not ones I was born with & aren’t under my control

I’ve been struggling with acne for a long time, first on my back & later on my face. To this day, I also have scars on my face. I would never wear shirts that had open backs bc I was ashamed, I worried what people would think & say. I would constantly get comments on my skin, as if I didn’t already know. They had a whole spiel of what I was doing wrong, how terrible my skin is & what I need to do

It rubbed off on me. I never really had image issues or cared much about my looks & who said what about it & suddenly I was being my own worst enemy, fixating on everything wrong with me, even gruelling myself for it

We live in a world that idolises beauty & always judges how we look & dress. What pictures we post on IG & how many likes we get

We should stop listening to all that poison, stop bringing others down for every mishap & scar. Instead, start embracing our imperfections & inspiring others to do the same

It took me a long time to stop listening to all the hate & toxicity around me, to stop looking at all the perfect skin of others around me & comparing theirs to my own & even longer to stop taxing myself for it, let alone embracing myself, with all my scars & blemishes. I took the long route to discover that my flaws make me who I am, I wouldn’t be me without them. They make me human, unique & different

It’s my non-bulshit, anti-conforming & drama-free mindset, which came with my 30’s & singlehood, that helped me stop caring & even more so the people spreading it

You should do the same. Embrace yourself with all of your flaws, quirks, weirdness & scars, bc they are what make you special & unique
